Chicago Illiuminating Company

This wedding is going to give you goosebumps!  It has all kinds of goodness!  I’ve been super anxious to share this with you, and it is totally worth the wait.  Thank you to Stephanie and Cody for trusting jpb designs and our Stephanie with your Chicago wedding coordination.  And, thank you to Andrew Barkules for his amazing eye; the photos are absolutely stunning!

 The day was truly magical!

Stehpanie, her beautiful bridesmaids, and sweet family – like her Grandma – got ready at the Trump International Hotel Chicago.

We love this small, yet significant something blue embroidered into her dress.

The florist, a family friend of Stephanie’s, truly outdid herself.  Just wait until you get to the reception.

Chicago Illuminating Company

Meanwhile, the details started to come together at the Chicago Illuminating Company.

Guests walked into the entrance where they were greeted by a welcome sign, and they walked straight into the ceremony area – an outdoor portion of the Chicago Illuminating Company.  As you can see, the CIC houses an outdoor tent during the warmer months.  With extra cafe lights and drapery, as well as the warm wood tones from the chairs, the tent space felt cozy and warm.  But – our absolute favorite is the hanging floral at the end of the aisle.  It’s circular.  It’s lit.  It’s asymmetric.  It’s seriously beautiful!

Wait until you see how it gets repurposed later in the night, too…

Cocktail Hour

For cocktails, as the bride and groom took some on-site photos, guests headed inside the CIC to the beautiful tufted bar for cocktails and delicious bites provided by Blue Plate Catering.

As in all of our weddings, while the guests begin mingling during cocktail hour, we ensure the reception space is on point.  In this case, the tent had to be “flipped” – transitioned from a ceremony layout to a reception layout which includes dinner tables, a sweetheart table, and space for dancing.

And…how about that hanging floral installation?  We love how it became a perfect backdrop for the sweetheart table and how its asymmetric design framed the bride and groom while they were seated.

If you aren’t familiar, this is a naked cake.  Naked because is au naturel.  🙂

Desserts

Both Stephanie and Cody’s moms had a big hand in this dessert station.  It was quite a stunner!  You’ll see they wanted to provide all kinds of yummy treats for all different palates.  There was definitely something for everyone!

Thank you!
