After the new year, Laura, who was planning a Bridgeport Art Center wedding, called me to meet up for “coffee” and chat details. She got my name from another lovely Chicago planner. While we chatted all about her aesthetic, flow, and beautiful design (she is an interior designer, after all!), we also discussed how neither of us actually drink coffee! (Just tea.)
In the morning, Laura and her ladies got ready at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. As with my typical service, once hair and makeup is complete, I arrive onsite to begin gathering the important items for the photographer to document.
In this case, Laura hired Bethany and her team from Maypole Studios to document their wedding day. As you continue reading, I think you’ll find they did a fabulous job! In the images below, you will find tons of special moments and details from the wedding day.
Laura & Charlie opted for a first look, which provided them the opportunity to take photos around the city before heading to Bridgeport Art Center.
This shot is so great because it shows how smitten they are with one another!
Fleur created the beautiful bouquets. Aren’t the colors fabulous?
Something about this image of Laura and Charlie below is simply the best.
It’s simple, strong, and classic.
When the wedding party wrapped up their photo stops and arrived at Bridgeport Art Center, the team of vendors finished the final details for set up, and we were ready for the guests to arrive.
The ceremony took place in the Sculpture Garden. When you have a Bridgeport Art Center wedding in the loft space, you have the option of adding on the Sculpture Garden for cocktails and/or ceremony. Laura & Charlie chose to have it for both!
In this wedding, however, we did half of our cocktail time in the Sculpture Garden area and half upstairs in the loft. To transition upstairs, guests rode the industrial elevator, decked out with its own chandelier and penny-covered bar in the back. The best part? A bartender served drinks for guests as they rode the elevator!
Upstairs in the loft, guests mingled, ate at the guacamole station, and viewed their escort card, which was located on a hanging paint chip display.
Then, we opened the curtains…
It really was magical.
From the long head table to the unique centerpieces to the hanging florals, guests were wowed when they walked in.
Bridgeport Art Center is one of my favorite venues in Chicago! If you haven’t had the chance already, click on this link to see another fabulous BAC we coordinated: http://bit.ly/2tV4H6n
BAC has a fantastic staff who really listen and take care of the couples!
A special thank you to the following vendors!
I’m so thankful The Knot Chicago recognized what a fabulous wedding this truly was. See the print here: http://bit.ly/2FM5Nmx
