Shortly after COVID hit and we were all stuck inside, I got an email from Giana and Dom. They needed to hire a wedding coordinator for their Chicago wedding that was to be at the Chicago Cultural Center in the spring of 2021. To end their email, they shared a video with me of what Dom put together when he proposed to Giana. It completely made my day! Watch it here. In fact, I remember sharing it with my family that night. We all needed something upbeat during that time.

Needless to say, I feel in love with them both and was so excited to be their wedding coordinator in the spring of 2021.

And … it was so magical!

Changing Plans

As the wedding coordinator, especially during COVID, I offered to be the voice of reason if they needed to call. Gianna and Dom weren’t certain that the Chicago Cultural Center was going to open back up in time for their wedding. So, they started to plan for an outdoor event. However, they pivoted yet again and ended up at the beautiful Loft on Lake space for a much more intimate event.

Because you know I love all of the details, I was happy to hear Giana felt the same way. Let me share with you some of the goodness that came from Giana and Dom’s wedding day. That color palette is so beautiful!

Great Day

Truly, it ended up being such a great day and a great wedding. I could tell that these two are constantly surrounded by those who love them. Their families were just the sweetest. Even the officiant, a relative, reminded me of a friend with an old soul.

Given that the ceremony took place in Loft on Lake as well as cocktails and reception, the vendors had to “flip” the room. A term often used in our industry, that means we had to rearrange it within a short amount of time to repurpose the room. In this case, as in most cases, we had to change it from the ceremony to the reception. It was no small feat, let me tell you! However, we were able to work together to get it done!

I’m so grateful for Giana and Dom for putting their trust in me and my team to execute their vision as their wedding coordinator on their Chicago wedding. With great pride, we try to take care of our clients so that they don’t have to worry in the days or weeks leading up to their weddings. Then, on the wedding day, we like to see that they have the time to enjoy each moment without stressing about what is next. Leave the worrying to us!
