Ankita + Kunal | Destination Wedding | Part 2

Oh my goodness! It has been some time since I’ve been able to find the time to hop on and write another blog post. Basically, the 2022 post Covid rush took us by surprise! What a great year – but so many different moving parts.

Finally, let’s continue with the remaining blog post for Ankita & Kunal’s amazing destination wedding.

As a reminder, we were hired from Chicago to travel to Memphis as the destination wedding planner to help plan, design, and coordinate the multi-day and multi-event wedding weekend. It was a blast! In fact, I cannot wait to do it again. (Calling all destination wedding couples!!)

This is Ankita and Kunal. You can see our first segment of this blog post here.

Day 2: The Sangeet

On day 2, at the Fed Ex Event Center in the middle of a beautiful park, guests arrived around sunset, enjoyed food stations, and danced the whole night. My team and I couldn’t help but get completed engulfed in the dancing as well. It was so beautiful!

With a henna artist and great food, it really couldn’t get any better!

Day 3: Morning Ceremony

Bright and early, we started our day at Orion Hill, an unbelievably charming venue in Tennessee. If you haven’t heard of it already, please check it out. The day was warm and the sun was shining. Nevertheless, it was going to be a great day!

In the morning, Ankita chose to get ready at Orion Hill, while her groom got ready at the hotel. We then shuttled over guests from the hotel to the venue for the Baraat. .. and yet again, my team was off to the side, smiling and dancing. The day held so much joy for us!

As a destination wedding planner, I’m really hoping to make it back to Orion Hills. The women who worked at the venue couldn’t have been kinder. Similarly, the space was beautiful. You also have to see the backyard and outdoor space. It’s stunning!

After the ceremony, guests entered the ballroom for a traditional luncheon. Then, while the guests shuttled back to the hotel, for what must have been nap time, we headed over to the next venue to set up.

Day 3: The Reception

Later that evening, guests congregated at Esplanade for cocktails, dinner, and dancing. At this point, my team formed close relationships with the family. Knowing this was the end of our weekend, it was getting tough to say goodbye. However, after planning and working on decor, it felt great to see it all come together.

Here are some inspo shots for you –

Destination: Chicago

Did we feel tired? For sure!

Were our feet wounded and beat up? Absolutely!

Would we take on another multi-day event as a destination wedding planner? Yes! It was such a pleasure to work with Ankita and her family, as well as the vendors, on this big event. I feel like we handled the weekend with grace. Consequently, we are absolutely ready to do it all over again!
