Cabo-Inspired Design at Chicago Illuminating Company

The design direction for the wedding centered around fun, warmth, color, and texture. Working alongside Mal (formerly at Kehoe Designs) — whose background in luxury event design brought a strong creative vision to the day — every detail felt intentional without feeling overly formal.

The couple embraced bold patterns, layered color palettes, and playful design moments that transformed Chicago Illuminating Company into a celebration that felt vibrant and welcoming from the moment guests arrived.

Despite the summer heat, the atmosphere remained energetic all night long.

A Jewish Wedding Focused on Guest Experience

The couple wanted the evening to feel immersive and social rather than overly structured. Instead of a traditional plated dinner, they worked closely with Entertaining Company to create an elevated station-style dining experience.

The result was one of the most memorable meals of the season.

Guests moved throughout the space exploring an incredible variety of food offerings while reconnecting with family and friends. The format kept the energy high and encouraged interaction throughout the evening.

At the same time, the couple incorporated meaningful Jewish traditions into the celebration, blending cultural significance with a modern, relaxed atmosphere.

A Packed Dance Floor All Night Long

As the evening progressed, the energy only continued to build. Guests filled the dance floor almost immediately and stayed there throughout the night.

One of my favorite parts of the wedding was how naturally the entire celebration reflected the couple themselves — stylish, welcoming, and focused on creating an unforgettable experience for the people they love most.

Every detail worked together to create a celebration that felt elevated without ever feeling stiff.
