One of the most thoughtful parts of this wedding weekend was how intentionally the couple cared for their guests’ experience from beginning to end.
On the morning of the wedding, guests choose their own adventure before reconvening for a beautiful outdoor lunch overlooking the Illinois River. From pickleball and golf to a historic Peoria tour, every activity reflected the couple’s warm hospitality and attention to detail.
As a Chicago wedding planner, these are often the moments guests remember most.

Rather than leaving guests to fill their morning on their own, the couple created multiple activities that allowed everyone to experience a different side of the weekend.
Some guests boarded a shuttle from the Peoria Pere Marquette for a historic tour of Peoria. The family loves this city and wanted guests to understand its history and charm.
Others spent the morning golfing at Country Club of Peoria. A third group gathered for pickleball and cocktails.
The atmosphere felt relaxed, welcoming, and incredibly thoughtful.

The pickleball setup quickly became one of the most memorable parts of the morning.
Guests arrived to beautifully styled courts. Filled with personalized touches, including custom snacks, fresh juices, cocktails, linens family friends arranged for this fun morning event. The branding was on point! Every element felt playful while still maintaining the elevated aesthetic carried throughout the entire wedding weekend.
One of my favorite details was the custom welcome bags guests. The striped terrycloth bags featured the couple’s names and were filled with thoughtful gifts. The bags included custom water bottles featuring watercolor artwork of the couple, homemade granola prepared by the groom’s mother, and additional locally inspired treats.
The entire morning felt joyful, relaxed, and beautifully personal.

Later in the afternoon, guests reunited at Country Club of Peoria for an outdoor lunch.
The setting felt vibrant and celebratory. Guests moved between beautifully designed food stations while enjoying incredible weather and time together before the wedding ceremony later that evening.
The experience included local ice cream, custom popcorn boxes inspired by the wedding reception design, and even complimentary Maui Jim sunglasses for guests to enjoy throughout the day.
People arrived dressed for the occasion. The atmosphere reflected exactly what the couple hoped to create — a wedding weekend that felt elevated, welcoming, and genuinely fun.

What made this luxury wedding weekend so successful was not simply the scale of the events, but the level of care behind each experience.
Every activity, meal, and detail was designed to make guests feel included, comfortable, and fully immersed in the celebration from the moment they arrived.
Those thoughtful touches ultimately became some of the most memorable moments of the entire weekend.
