I began my career in education. I taught high school English before entering high school administration. I loved my career, but I knew I wanted to stay home with my children when they arrived.
While I cherished being present for all of my children's "firsts," I also craved professional satisfaction. That was when JPB Designs was born. Event planning was a natural blending of my creative and logistical sides, both of which I honed during my career in education. In the back of my mind, I figured I’d always go back to education when my children were older, that my life as an event planner would eventually come to an end. As the years passed, I struggled with the idea that I’d one day leave the business I worked so hard to build. Ultimately, I decided that event planning was my true calling and that I couldn’t envision myself back in a classroom.
We’ve grown so much as a company! We have added planners and formed incredible industry relationships. However, there is still a part of my heart tied to education. In 2019, we began donating a percentage of our profits to charities. In each region where we have a planner stationed, we have designated a charity that cultivates the love of learning in an at-risk teen population. Kids are our future, and we can’t wait to see what these teens can accomplish!
