We loved this wedding. Period. Andi, Josh, and mother of the bride Cath were super fun to work with, and we are so happy to have helped them with full service wedding planning! Because JPB Designs was involved from the beginning, we were able to infuse so many great personal details in the wedding day.
Sounds cliche, but the whole day truly was special.
Let me start with how beautiful all of the images are. With a special thanks to Jenn at Jennifer Kathryn Photography and her team, we ended up with some beautiful shots.
Because the couple wanted a first look, Jenn took a quick photo of the them in the penthouse right before the wedding party left for photos. We, in turn, ran to the local drug store to have the photo printed. As guests walked into the cocktail hour, we had a beautiful same day photo of the couple.
Isn’t Andi’s bouquet amazing? The floral inspiration came from an image she found on Pinterest. This drove the entire color scheme and floral inspiration for her beautiful, ombre floral arch designed by the famous Chicago florist and philanthropist, Flowers for Dreams.
That veil, you ask? Andi’s insanely beautiful hand made vintage veil came from her mother – and before that, her grandmother. Hearing this story made me feel compelled to relay the story to their guests. The veil is such a treasure!
We ended up framing the story on the escort table, which sat next to the photo of Andi and Josh.
With full service wedding planning, we are able to learn all about our clients. This helps us to completely understand their vision and to suggest creative ideas that support that vision, like the veil story!
As a full planner, we help determine the important details from the day. Therefore, we know how to guide the photographer throughout the day to get those key details.
In the Wyndham’s penthouse, the ceremony can be held outside and the reception takes place a few feet away in a stunning room that has floor to ceiling glass windows and overlooks three sides of the city. It’s one of my favorite places in Chicago.
For the reception, Andi and Josh didn’t want to carry the ombre inside. Instead, they chose to go with a more traditional look. Flowers for Dreams took this idea and executed beautifully.
Here are some of those classic, white details.
Although I wrote this blog by noting the venue as Chicago’s Wyndham Grand, since the wedding, the Royal Sonesta Hotel chain bought out the Wyndham in Chicago. Thus, this hotel is now called the Royal Sonesta Chicago Riverfront, still one of my favorites hotels in the city.
(Here is another blog post about the Wyndham / Royal Sonesta that we did.)
As always, we could not have done this wedding without the fabulous team of vendors we had by our side! Thank you to each and every one of them.
