Isabella & Brian | Micro Wedding

Just five short weeks before the first event was to take place, I received a call from Isabella. She wanted to plan a micro wedding in September of 2020 and a party the following weekend to celebrate everything. By everything, she meant – a new home, their wedding, her 40th birthday.

Challenge accepted!

From the first meeting, Isabella explained to me that she LOVES to throw a good party. So, as you can imagine, we totally hit it off! She and I had such a blast working together on this micro wedding and celebration that I’m able to walk away with a really great new friend.

During our first meeting, Isabella provided me with the basics:

  • 2 different events
  • backyard with tent
  • seated diner
  • and dancing!

We took these ideas and ran with them.

Here are some of our favorite moments…

Weekend 1: The Micro Wedding

As guests entered the back yard, each chair had a personalized sign to make seating stress-free during COVID.

We decided to doll up this adorable little shed in the back yard to use as a backdrop for their socially-distanced ceremony.

We incorporated a ton of really fun details!

And, of course, we were in love with all of the floral used inside the tent!

Weekend 2: The Party

For the second weekend, we asked the florist to replenish anything that needed freshening. Additionally, because the guest list was less family and more friends, we separated the tables to create much more distance between the guests.

Because this weekend was more festive than ceremonial, we also added some fun details.

Servers greeted guests in the backyard with champagne flutes. Once everyone arrived, we surprised them and played a video montage from the previous weekend that featured ceremony clips and a few toasts.

We added the high top tables and a specialty bar. DJ Swiss Kid Legacy brought the tunes and turned the patio into a dance floor for post-dinner dancing.

Dipsy Desserts made these super cute, super delicious ice cream treats with “Let’s Celebrate Everything” on top.

We had an absolute blast planning these two micro events in such a short amount of time! A special thank you to the vendor team who helped execute these two events.
